One might ask their self what on earth do I want with the law of God? Well if you knew the true Hebrew word and its meaning for law you might look at this subject somewhat differently. In most instances the Hebrew word for law is "Torah". When the Hebrew scriptures were translated into Greek at Babylon by order of King Nebuchadnezzar. The 70 rabbis translated the word "Torah""in the Hebrew into ""Law"" in the Greek. Now to you and I the term "Law" has a lot of negative baggage associated with it, but lets look at the original Hebrew term shall we. The original Hebrew term is "Torah" which originally meant "God's likenesses, teachings, and judgments". Now we have somewhat a different view don't we. It is important to note that our first promises of salvation came from the "Law", or "Torah" if you will. In the book of Genesis God first promised our salvation in chap. 3 verse 15. What an amazing coincidence that John 3:16 states almost the exact same thing in different words! The entire story of the bondage of Israel in Egypt and God's deliverance through a messianic type we know as Moses, the passover story, their journey through the wilderness for 40 years, and finally the younger generation entering into the promise land is nothing short of an exact shadow and type of our Salvation from the bondage of sin to life through our Messiah in great depth of detail. I could go on and on and on about the implications, but suffice it to say that the LORD's Torah is an absolutely fabulous telling of not only what God had planned for us, but also is highly prophetic about the future as well. Psalm 19 is an absolutely wonderful Psalm that declares the glory of God as our Redeemer! This Psalm 19 plaque is made from Hack berry and measures approximately 6.5"" X 10"".
